The Snackadium
Dear Izzy, Max, and Kate,
It’s the best time of year for football fans everywhere. The NFL playoffs are in full swing and the BCS National Title game between Alabama and Notre Dame is tonight!
To celebrate the season Mommy decided to help me participate in Pillsbury’s annual “Snackadium” promotion. To call your mommy “crafty” or “creative” is an understatement, so she more than agreed…she immediately got to work. The task: build a stadium made out of snacks. Simple. The only requirement was the use Pillsbury crescent rolls and pizza crust in the creation.
As a multisport family we also needed the snackadium to include a few healthy options. We put them in the goods seats!
Step 1: get Grandfather to cut some sheet metal for the stadium walls for us. He cut them 6 inches high.
He added a personal touch with Texas Longhorn duct tape
Step 2: you girls went to work planning
Step 3: Gather supplies
Step 4: Start cooking! She made chocolate crescents (Pillsbury cresecent rolls with chocolate chips rolled up inside), Pigs in a blanket (Pillsbury crescents with Lil Smokies inside) and of course, a pizza.
Step 5: Put the field (pizza) and the stands in the stadium:
Step 6: Then we filled the corners with Bugles, Chex Mix, tortilla chips, and chocolate crescents
Step 7: The upper decks: Pigs in a blanket, cookies, and more
Step 8: Then we added the VIP’s (fruits and veggies and took a pic from the blimp
Complete!
Yes, the scoreboard is made of Pillsbury crescent rolls too. And yes, those are Slim Jim goal posts and cheese dip endzones.
Final Step: LET THE KIDS DEVOUR IT!
My favorite….the Chocolate Crescent rolls! Yum!
We had a blast building the snackadium, though I must admit, keeping you kids away from it during the construction was the biggest challenge.
